About The Book
When thirteen-year-old "orphaned" twins Ariel and Kristina Collins suddenly found themselves homeless, they had to decide their next move. Their summer jobs as part-time maids at the Moody Moon Hotel were not able to sustain them. They were kidnapped by an unsavoury character who dumped them on the streets to fend for themselves.
However, living on the streets was not an option for this wily pair, and as fate would have it, they ended up being residents of an infamous orphanage of sorts called The Diamond Square.
Their frequent bending and breaking of the rules in their new home take the readers on a dizzying adventure that will not soon be forgotten.

Meet the Author
Godfrey Rolle
Godfrey Gordon Rolle or ‘G” as he is affectionately known by those closest to him, was born in the small, rustic but beautiful settlement of Hartswell, on the island of Great Exuma, The Bahamas. Even as a preschooler young ‘G’ showed a strong affinity for reading, and writing, and as such would read everything he laid his hands upon. As he progressed along life’s cycle; from preschooler to adolescent teenager, many days his backside was “warmed” by the sting of a tamarind switch administered by his mother or father, for lying in the cool shade of a fig tree reading instead of tending to his chores.

The author, throughout his life, found an inexplicable calmness in the beauty, serenity, and wildness of nature, particularly the sea. In Exuma and elsewhere, he would spend countless hours near the seashore just watching the waves gently kissing the shorelines or being whipped about by the wind.

In moments such as these, his mind would take flight into the boundless space, unfettered and unrestrained by human constraints. This love and respect for nature influenced his poetry writings which he began to write at an early age. It guided his thought processes even as he wrote about love, beauty, and intimacy.

When asked, “why do you write the way that you do?” His response was “to me, poetry is at once simple and profound. It is my vehicle for expressing those innermost feelings which might otherwise remain trapped inside.

Some may consider my poetry unique, perhaps overly eccentric; but it speaks to what I am feeling at a given moment. I cannot help but write about my love for nature; having lived in such a paradise as The Bahamas, coupled with having seen so many amazing scenes in my extensive travels to other countries.

I cannot help but write about my love for God Almighty because I consider what he has done for me unfathomable. I cannot help but write about love when I feel it ever stirring in my chest.

I cannot help but write about intimacy and sex when I feel it throbbing in my loins. These all make up the sum total of my human existence and therefore as long as God gives me the ability, I WILL WRITE!!!!”

Meet the Author
Rosena Duncanson
A passionate writer, mentor, life coach and first-time published poetry author, Rosena Duncanson was born in the beautiful islands of The Bahamas. She is a lover of art, music and nature scenes.
Inspired by personal experiences, her writing embodies emotional resilience and evokes self-awareness. She like many others have at one time or another been held captive by the spirit of fear: the voice of intimidation; a fear of failure; a fear of not succeeding; and the fear of not accomplishing what God would have her do. As a result, she shares her misguided memories as a source of encouragement and empowerment to those she encounters.
Even though she has attained many professional accolades, Rosena highlights the journey of life’s experiences with the desire to continue loving as great accomplishments.
In time the sediments of history will cloud her memory, the memories of those who knew her or thought they knew her, filtering and shifting their discernment of a woman who continues to grow to become a cherished icon of this modern 21st Century era.
She is a firm believer that we can rediscover new versions of ourselves with each experience we encounter.
BOOK SUMMARY

"From the age of 5, Ta'kell has been whipping up dishes in her toy kitchen and today she moves effortlessly through her family kitchen preparing scrumptious meals.
Her attention to details, unreserved blend of flavours, and consistent desire to explore new ingredients, have helped her to bloom into an aspiring chef extraordinaire.
As you turn through the pages of her cookbook, you will be introduced to some of her favourite dishes which she has shared with her family, friends, and the wider community.”
Hello everyone! My name is Ta’kell and I am 10 years old. When I grow up, I want to become a Chef because I love to cook!

In preschool, my teachers would look forward to me bringing special baked treats made by my Mom and me. Since the age of 7, I have been telling my parents about my plans to open my own restaurant someday, and ever since then, they have been providing me with the tools and learning opportunities to help make my dream come true.

I enjoy cooking with and for my family and I love learning about new recipes and skills. My Parents, Grandparents, and Aunt Sara provide me with tons of hands-on learning experiences.

Whether I am preparing meals for family dinner, preparing treats for my teachers and classmates, helping to fulfill orders for my Aunt Sara’s Bakery, or gifting church members with tasty treats like my mini apple pies for our church potlucks, I am always finding new ways to improve my skills and experiment with new dishes.

Last year, my family and I began hosting “Pop-Ups” where we showcase some of our favorite dishes to people in the community, and they have all been very successful! Our customers always leave expressing their desire for the next Pop-Up day. I’ve even had customers ask me about private catering!

Also last year, I was blessed with the opportunity of preparing weekly dishes for Aunty K’s Children’s Sabbath School, a weekly Bible program series birthed during extreme Covid lockdowns. The name of my segment in the program is Ta’kell’s Tasty Treats. I love the idea of sharing some of my favourite recipes with children worldwide while sharing the love of Jesus.

Because of the overwhelming support shown to me through the Aunty K program, I now have a YouTube channel where you can enjoy new recipe videos weekly. And now, my parents and I are delighted to share my recipes with you through my book.

My family and I love to prepare meals and make memories together in the kitchen and I hope that you will enjoy using my cookbook to do the same.

Happy cooking!
Ta'Kell Miller
